SERVICES

As a Documentation Specialist, (technical writer), I am familiar with writing manuals for software, machinery, and products. My services generally involve the following items:
1. Overall planning, designing, and writing of manuals.
2. Researching the subject (software or machinery) at your site. This involves my traveling to your location to perform the research.
3. Writing the procedures off-site at my office in southern Minnesota, using telecommunication (modem, telephone, and E-mail) for further research.
4. Submitting drafts to your subject matter experts for editing and for final approval.
5. Submitting completed documentation in the software of your choice.
6. Continuing maintenance of the documents, or training your employees for maintaining the documents.

I provide documentation services as an independent contractor, which means you pay no payroll taxes for me. I generally invoice on a time, travel, and materials basis. Time is based on a set hourly rate. Travel costs include mileage, airfare, car rental, and hotels as necessary.
